THANK YOU.

Yesterday was our first big event, and man, it was a huge success.

In case you weren't there, we had a huge party to celebrate our first year of beer. We opened the taproom a little early around 1:45 p.m. and it filled up almost immediately. We opened the warehouse and set up tables, chairs, a stage area, and corn hole. Robert Leath & Friends played some folk-rock tunes, then Heidi Burson graced the stage, and Wings Of Apollo rocked out until we ended the party around 11 p.m.

We had corn hole tournaments, hula hoop contests, raffle prizes, and a hell of a time. Thanks to the delicious food catered by Cool Cafe, cake from Buttercreamed Bliss, and 11 beers on tap, everyone's palates were pleased.

We just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us. It was a blast! We can't wait to continue the party as we continue to grow and brew.

Thank you for yesterday and every day. You are our patrons, our backbone. We are forever grateful.

Our cup runneth over.

What you need to know about our 1 Year Anniversary Party

Only 2 more days until the 1 Year Anniversary Party on Saturday! We're getting excited.
This is what we'll have on tap for you:

  • Whiskilla, the killa of whiskey vanilla stouts. That's right, our Portly Stout infused with vanilla beans and aged in a whiskey barrel from the kind folks at Belle Meade Bourbon.
  • 11th Hour, the reintroduction of our Portly Stout with vanilla beans. Smooth.
  • a chocolate stout, with cocoa nibs from our friends at Olive & Sinclair, an artisan chocolatier right here in Nashville. Southern Living readers voted them "America's Best Chocolate." (You're welcome to bring vanilla ice cream to plop into your beer. BEER FLOAT.)
  • Gil's Wet Goat, the first batch from our pilot brewing system. This is a Belgian Saison spiced with sweet orange peel, bitter orange peel, 3 different types of Belgian candy syrup, and 7 different hop varieties.
  • Hail The Pale, the resurrection of our version of an American Pale Ale. It's light with a citrus hop flavor and aroma. Bubbly and beautiful.
  • A golden ale with Trappist Yeast, which is Aurumglass fermented with a Trappist ale yeast instead of our house yeast. History lesson: In the Middle Ages, European monks were expected to be self-sufficient, and therefore brewed beer to feed their communities. Trappist yeast (name comes from La Trappe, France) is an ingredient they used in their beer, and still do today.

Just a heads up, there's a predicted 40% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, but that won't stop us from partying. It will be all indoors anyway, so no drinking allowed outside (alcohol laws require a specific patio situation). There's no cover, and all ages are welcome.

We'll have a hula hoop contest, and we'll have a super awesome homemade corn hole game going.

You won't need to bring anything except your party pants and a good attitude. We'll have tables, chairs, food (thanks to Cool Cafe), beer, music, the whole shebang.

OH! And we'll have a limited number of limited edition mugs for sale. They're really big and fancy. We're gonna raffle too! Get pumped to win some swag!

The party starts at 2 p.m. and goes until at least 10 p.m. See ya there!

At Wit's End---it's back!

Introducing the return of another delicious summer rotator, At Wits End, a traditional Belgian Witbier brewed with coriander and bitter orange peel. It is an unfiltered wheat ale, so it has a cloudy appearance. The combination of the wheat, hops, and spices creates a thirst-quenching quaffable beer. Brewer's secret: the coriander we use is actually cilantro seeds. The seeds have a different flavor than the leaves you typically find in Indian, Chinese, and Mexican dishes.

It goes on tap tomorrow. Come in 4-10 p.m. and get witty!

P.S. Be on the lookout tomorrow for a blog post with descriptions of all the different brews we'll be serving at our 1 Year Anniversary Party this Saturday, July 20.

1 Year Anniversary Party Lineup. KILLER!

8:00 p.m. - Wings Of Apollo - www.wingsofapollo.com Wings of Apollo is an American rock band based out of Nashville, TN. With an electrifying live performance and eclectic musical vision, this power trio is set to become the tour de force for this generation of bands.

Wings Of Apollo
5:30 p.m. - Heidi Burson - www.heidiburson.com Heidi is a Nashville artist who draws comparison to the songwriting of Carole King and the powerhouse vocals of Aretha Franklin. A performance by her usually includes people brought to tears and silence falling over the crowd as her vocals weave in and out of the deepest parts of your soul. Her band brings an extra funky blues side to the original music she wholeheartedly has composed. The best part about Heidi is that her skills both vocally and on the piano are true to form whether heard on her album or live on the stage.

Heidi Burson
3:00 p.m. - Robert W Leath & Friends - myspace.com/robertleath Robert Leath is the CEO of Castlewood music. He is also a SESAC songwriter.

What's on Tap: Ninja Stars and Cardamom

Just in time to cure your July 4th hangover, we've put some new 50 Shades of Black on tap for ya.

Ninja Star Stout: Portly Stout infused with star anise - it's just that simple. Star anise is a ninja star-shaped spice plucked from evergreen trees in China and Vietnam. The star anise adds the flavor and aroma of licorice to the already complex roast and caramel character of the stout.

Card A Mom: Cardamom is a unique spice not often used in beer. It is commonly used in Indian dishes and Finnish desserts because it has a slightly sweet, cola-like flavor, which blends well with our Portly Stout and creates an all-new herbal/spicy aroma and flavor.

Be on the lookout for more rotators! See you at the taproom.
