Goodbye and Good Luck Kelsey. Hello and Welcome Liz!

Fellow Turtle Anarchists,

It's Kelsey here, your beloved spokesTurtle and Turtle rep. I'm writing to announce the end of my Turtle career, and the beginning of a new spokesTurtle. I am resigning from my position as senior account executive/marketing/sales lady for personal reasons. Turtle Anarchy has treated me well, but my time here is done. I am happy to announce your new spokesTurtle, Liz Chastain! (She's on the left.)

You've probably seen her around at beer festivals and events... She's the bomb. She'll be taking over all the blogging and social media, so the words you read will be hers from here on out.

I will miss you all so much, and I'll definitely be around. Don't hesitate to cheers me when you see me out!

Cheers and forever love,

June Bloom!

Ladies and gents, it's been a while since we've spoken. Here's why:

In case you haven't heard, we're moving our production to West Nashville at the end of the summer. We love Franklin, but there isn't any retail space for us to expand with larger equipment. Our new operation will be off of 60th and California Ave, just north of Charlotte Ave in a neighborhood called "The Nations." It will be strictly for production–we're still keeping our taproom in Franklin. We'll also still be doing small batch brews and sours at our Franklin location, too.

So this is what's up in June:
Tuesday June 17: Pint Night at The Tomato Head, 6 pm @ Kingston Pike, Knoxville. Discounted pints of Turtle, even on our specialty beer More Than Meets the Rye, a double dry-hopped rye IPA. Proceeds will benefit Ijams Nature Center. Come out drink, good beer, and support nature!
Saturday June 21: Knoxville Brewfest, 4-8 pm @ Gay St & Depot Ave, Knoxville. We'll have Portly Stout, Infidelis Helles, and More Than Meets the Rye. Proceeds benefit CureDuchenne.
Sunday June 22: Farm Fest: An Open House at Noble Springs Dairy, 3-6 pm, Franklin. You've seen their delicious goat cheese at your local market. Come get a feel for what they do on their farm, and sample some Turtle.
Tuesday June 24: Turtle Anarchy Beer Dinner at PM Restaurant, 7 pm @ Belmont Blvd, Nashville. Your favorite Asian-inspired restaurant in Nashville is creating a three-course dinner to pair with three Turtle Anarchy brews, one being PB&S, our peanut butter stout. We DO NOT DISTRIBUTE PB&S at all, so if you haven't tried it, don't miss your chance! PM will even use some grains that we use in our beer in the meal. It's gonna be unique and delicious.
Friday June 27: Growler Promo at Riverside Beverage, 4-6 pm @ Riverside Beverage, Chattanooga. Get some sweet deals on Turtle Anarchy growlers! Hang out with us! Take home some free stuff!
Friday June 27Tap Takeover at Universal Joint @ 6 pm, Universal Joint, Chattanooga. Come party with us! We're drinking discounted Turtle pints. You can take your pint glass home!
Saturday June 28: Nashville Predators Craft Beer Festival, 1-6 pm @ Bridgestone Arena, Nashville. We're gonna bring What the Fudge!?, More Than Meets the Rye, and Infidelis Helles. You'll have a chance to vote for your favorite beer... you already know! :)

Don't forget to follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook! Cheers, y'all.

New Brewmaster / Our First Sour Beer

The Times They Are a-Changin'

Ladies and gentlemen, we have some big news...

We have a new brewmaster! Dan Dutcher has taken over the brewmaster position here at Turtle Anarchy. He has been brewing with us as an intern/assistant brewer since January 2013, and this week we passed the reigns to him. Congrats, Dan!

Dan making a Turtle Anarchy Reserve small batch stout.

For all you sour heads out there, last May, we filled a Californication white wine barrel with How Now Brown Cow, our seasonal American brown ale. Welp, it's just been sittin' in the barrel getting sour and delicious. Tonight, we put that bad baby on tap! Introducing our very first sour... HOW NOW MAD COW!

It's finally on tap!!!
Also, we'll be pouring some brews at Main Street Brew Fest this Saturday here in Franklin. Who's coming? We'll be pouring Infidelis Helles, Another Way to Rye, and Portly Stout. We'll also have a firkin of Another Way to Firk set up–a dry hopped rye IPA fresh out of the firkin.

Knoxville, save the date for next Thursday March 20, we're coming for ya! We're taking over the taps at Vic's Beer Store & Cigar Shoppe with Infidelis Helles, Portly Stout, How Now Brown Cow, and a special batch of Down With the Coconut, our stout made with freshly toasted coconut just for you!

For the spring equinox on Friday March 21, we'll be having a firkin party at Hops & Crafts in Nashville featuring a cask of IPA. You'll have to come out for this one... The whole cask must be drunk that night!

Rock and roll.

Almost March--An Update!

Hello beer drinkers and Turtle lovers!

Hope your Valentine's Day was full of love and beer and love for beer. We've been busy brewing and making some changes.

Goodbye Aurumglass
Ladies and gentlemen, we are waving goodbye to our flagship golden ale, Aurumglass. We know you love her, we love her too. We'll probably reintroduce her at a later time under a different name. We'll definitely keep you updated.

Hello Ms. Helles
We're replacing Aurumglass with Infidelis Helles, our light, grainy/bready helles-style ale. If you see Aurumglass on tap anywhere, drink it while you can because we're down to the last few kegs of it.
Starting tonight, we're offering pints of Aurumglass at $3 and growlers at $8 at our taproom to see her off with a bang.

We're also booking some sweet events for the upcoming months.

Here's our schedule for March:
March 5 (Wednesday): Beer dinner at {Pub}licity, featuring a cask of What the Fudge?, Nashville.
March 15 (Saturday): Pouring at Main Street Brew Fest featuring Portly Stout, Another Way to Rye, Infidelis Helles. Get your tix by clicking here. Franklin.
March 20 (Thursday): Tap takeover at Vic's Total Beverage featuring Down With the Coconut, Portly Stout, Infidelis Helles, and our seasonal (most likely How Now Brown Cow). Knoxville.
March 21 (Friday): Spring Equinox Cask Party, Hops & Crafts, featuring a cask of small batch IPA. Nashville.

January Brews, Taproom Hours, & Beerfests

Greetings beer lovers! Turtle here, comin' at you with some updates.

In case you missed it, we recently finished a keg of K.R.Vass One, a smoky, sour kvass with no hops at all, and fully fermented by lactobacillus (4.6% ABV).

We also created a new brew, Smokeless Mirrors, our stout with chocolate, cinnamon, and chipotle. Special and rich. Yum!

Be on the lookout for a new small batch IPA in the next couple weeks. We're double-dry-hopping an IPA, possibly even triple-dry-hopping it. It's fermenting now!

Fermenting IPA

Just a heads up, we'll be closed for a private event until 5pm this Thursday, Jan. 16. We'll be open for business from 5-10p on Thursday, 4-10p on Friday, and 2-10p Saturday. We still have plenty of room for tours this Saturday at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30. Just email us at turtleanarchybrewingco@gmail.com with the number of people in your party and we'll get the ball rollin' for ya!

Also, look out Columbia! We're coming back to participate in the Winterfest Beer Blast (ticket info here) on Friday, Jan. 24 from 7-10p at the Westbury House on the square. Come out–ticket sales will benefit Columbia CARES, an organization that specializes in AIDS/HIV prevention, testing, and social services.

One more thing: check out this sweet write-up our friends at NashvilleBreweries.com did on us! -> http://nashvillebreweries.com/turtle-anarchy-brewing-co/
